For those of you in about and around California I wanted to remind you that we are going to have a fly -in to Columbia, CA. Airport over Labor Day weekend. Many of us are going to Georgetown around noon on Saturday Sept 4th because we have been invited to a taildragger fly-in going on that Saturday. In the afternoon we will be going to Columbia for the evening. Then on Sunday those who wish to will fly to Pine Mtn Lake for a breakfast than back to Columbia. If we can arrange it with someone with a camera maybe we can
get some aerial photos of the Ercoupes. While we are there I would like the participants to set out a list of neat places to have more fly-ins to, and when they should be held. I have checked with the airport and there is camping on the grounds right next to the runway. They have showers and Bar-B-Q pits. It is a short nature walk to a restaurant (hamburgers ?) and we will try and organize transportation to motels for those who don't want to rough it. There will be a Gruman Yankee fly-in of about 12-15 planes at Columbia on Saturday-Sunday. I told the lady at the airport that we weren't at all prejudiced against Yankees as long as they were contrite and humble. We apparently have about 4 or 5 aircraft that will be flying up in a group from Apple Valley and Fresno. Anyone else want to join us please advise. or just meet us at Fresno Chandler by 10:30 on Saturday, Sept 4th. Lets keep this thing going Ercoupers. Bob N99590 APV / CA
