If the engine mount bushings are more than 2-3 years old, they may be letting your engine sag enough to cause the spinner to touch the nose bowl. You might also want to check to see if the spinner can be filed along the back edge until that edge is even with the backing plate.If the backing plate misses the cowling then you should be able to get the spinner to do the same.
