Stefan, I fly my Alon from a 2000 ft grass strip with no problem. The grass needs to be kept short and the strip rolled occasionaly, but watch the density altitude on a hot day. Grass will require more take off distance on normal days, and when it gets hot there may be days when you don't want to
take a passenger and full fuel. Otherwise, go for it. Just having the hanger is worth it. Fuel might be the only other issue. Some grass strips don't have fuel available. I have a 500 gal tank on stilts which is very handy ($1.48/gal too). Otherwise you might have to stop and refuel at the local airport. Ken Doyle Springfield, Mo Alon N5477E
