I own a 65 Alon (6554Q My wife and friends calls her "the red headed mistress") so, I don't claim to be that knowledgeable about the sliding windows issue. I have, however, heard that bees wax is a good lubrication for this type of applications. It doesn't evaporate and will prevent allot of scratches you'd still get with other oil type products.
I use it on my roll top desk and basically your windows operate the same as my roll top. On the down side, it may leave a little wax smudging where the plexy slides through the track. You can get bees wax at any store that carries sewing supplies. My wife uses it on thread to keep it from fuzing up when treading a needle. It can be melted and applied in liquid form also. Good luck! -- Have a good one! If it's a penny for your thoughts and you put in your two cents, then someone, somewhere is making a penny.
