I'm not a "Couper" yet but it is definitely on my list as a first airplane. All the Coupers I've sent e-mail to have been very friendly and willing to answer all my dumb questions. As with any of my "major" purchases I tend to take a while to do research. So far, the Ercoupe is number one in my book for a cheap, fun, plane I could live with. Jolly in Aurora has a beautiful one for sale...hmmmm. Anyway, I spend last weekend in Capitola, CA with my family. On Saturday (6/5), while playing guitar on the beach, I noticed a cute little Coupe flying over. I couldn't believe it! A short while later it flew by going south this time. Was this an omen or what???? I pointed it out to my wife who said "Would you please buy one already so I can stop hearing about them?" I love my wife!!!! Was anybody on this list flying that bird that day?? Anyway, like I said I'm not quite ready to buy yet. I haven't flown in 13 years so I need to get current again this summer and knock off the rust. I'm waiting for an instructor friend of mine to visit me at the end of the summer then I'll be looking seriously and hoping to get a ride in one before I decide that the Coupe is the way to go.
