Hello All: I recently purchased N57Q, a 61 Forney with a C-90. After 10 hours it began to sputter and I found the plugs fouled with dry, black carbon. I cleaned the plugs and flew another 10 hours and it began to run rough again. The plugs were again blackened. The carbon is dry and lacking any smoke in the exhaust, I assumed the problem was that of too rich a mixture. I live at 4000 ft. This suspicion was confirmed by a call to El Reno Air who advised this is a common problem after the replacement of the 2 peice venturi with the single peice venturi. Logs confirmed this had been done in '95 about 50 tach hrs. back. They suggested one remedy is to put in the so called "rosebud" fuel tube($135), but advised the better cure is to replace the 2 peice venturi. Does anyone out there have a two peice venturi for a Marvel Schebler model MA3SPA p/n 10-4894?
