This morning we were doing touch and goes when on the "go" side the
nosewheel started shimmying. I pulled power, let it settle, and then
tried another takeoff. No go this time either- another shimmy. The
first landing we did today (and every landing since I bought the
plane) we didn't have *any* problems with shimmying.
The only thing I can think of is that the tire pressure was a little
high (though this is the first time this has happened even though we
put more pressure in a few flights ago.) What is the recommended
pressure for this dual fork tire (what's the size of this btw- I
forgot to look.)
Also, my instructor doesn't like the McCreary tire that's on there
(lets just say he's a *very* opinionated guy.) The tire is looking a
little used anyway so I was figuring on getting another here shortly
and keeping this one for a backup. What is a good tire for the
price?
I saw that Michelin had their Condor 500X5X6 for $60 with free
shipping through Chief Aircraft. Is this a good tire for the price?
