Some of you were interested in what different insurance rates run. I
just got through "shopping" and found some interesting results.
Namely make sure you shop! I had rates all the way from $1250
(Avemco) down to $750 (which I went with) from Aircraft Marine. I
checked about everybody I could find including AOPA and AUA.
My $750 rate was for a student pilot with zero hours, $15K hull,
$100K
per seat, and $1M total. I figure that next year after I've gotten
200 hours (really!) the rate should drop considerably.
Anyway, hope this helps you. Oh, another thing I found- once a
broker
gets a quote from one source that source won't quote to another
broker
so make sure you pick the one you want the first time because they
all
get quotes from about the same half dozen places.
Lord and weather willing I'll be picking up my 'Coupe tomorrow
(insured of course!) I'm like a kid on Christmas Eve!!!!!
