Have you been able to compile other software? I wonder if it is your compiler version. This is what I am using: ii gcc 3.3.5-3 The GNU C compiler ii gcc-3.3 3.3.5-8 The GNU C compiler ii gcc-3.3-base 3.3.5-8 The GNU Compiler Collection (base package) ii gcc-3.3-doc 3.3.5-8 Documentation for the GNU compilers (gcc, go ii gcc-3.4-base 3.4.3-12 The GNU Compiler Collection (base package) ii libgcc1 3.4.3-12 GCC support library ii g++ 3.3.5-3 The GNU C++ compiler ii g++-3.3 3.3.5-8 The GNU C++ compiler ii cpp 3.3.5-3 The GNU C preprocessor (cpp) ii cpp-3.3 3.3.5-8 The GNU C preprocessor Sometimes I have problems compiling if I happen to have more than one automake version installed. You could try searching Google using some of the compile errors you are seeing. Maybe you are missing some development packages. Since I am not familiar with SuSE, I don't know whether it has a tool for installing packages based on the task they perform. The Xandros package maintenance app, for example, allows one to choose "Debian Development" packages and all the necessary packages are installed and I don't need to know what all of them are. Maybe SuSE has something similar. 8) ------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Splunk Inc. Do you grep through log files for problems? Stop!
