Hello,

I work for a company that uses SuSE linux 9.3 and 10.0, Courier-IMAP 3.x, and Postfix. In the past I've ran into problems with Outlook clients using the IMAP protocol and giving the error message about being unable to connect to the mail server, unable to download a "null" folder, etc. Just recently (today), I've had many complaints from the Windows users about this problem, all relatively at the same time. The funny thing is, all of the linux users (or even Windows users using Thunderbird) have not had any problems at all.

Personally I would like nothing more than to convert all of these users from Outlook over to using Thunderbird, but the users use many of the Features Outlook has that Thunderbird doesn't. Another thing to note is that none of the users that are using Outlook and the POP3 protocol are having any problems at all, but the majority of our users at the corporate office (and out in the field) use Outlook or Outlook Express.

Also, I have searched google many times (over the past few years) trying to find answers to this problem and there doesn't seem to be an answer readily available. I've ran into this issue not only with our mail server at this company, but using courier on other linux servers when I've ran my own hosting servers. I've simply tried to ignore the issue until now.

Can anyone help? Thanks in advance!
