Will the server ever close a connection between client & server?
As long as the IMAP client keeps sending commands, the session will remain open forever.
I ask, because I see a lot of open connections between the users' MUAs and our server. Is there any timeout that would let the server close the connection in order to reduce the number of concurrent imapd processes?
IMAP requires an inactivity timeout of no less than 30 minutes. Courier-IMAP will terminate the session only if no commands are received for 30 minutes.
