First of all, authdaemond needs a command, for it runs as a daemon - this is one of "start|stop|restart". You don't start authldap, as it's a compiled-in module to authdaemon. The authdaemon receives authentication requests from Courier programs (such as Courier-IMAP).
To test the authentication out, run "authtest <username> <password>" (password is optional to check the basic user details, put password in to check it's authentication via username/password pair.) You also need to check authdaemonrc and (I'm guessing, authldaprc) and configure to your environment. # /usr/local/sbin/authdaemond start # /usr/local/bin/authtest [EMAIL PROTECTED] userspassword --- user info or failure message -- If you get a failure, check /var/log/maillog and turn up debugging in authdaemonrc if necessary. Note when changing the config, it's best to do "authdaemond stop" followed by "authdaemond start" to check it's picking up the new config. That's as much help as I can give you as I've never used LDAP. I'd say read through the comments in authdaemonrc and authldaprc if you get stuck. Andy.
