Hi everyone I'm noew to this list and email serives provision generally, so apologies if I ask stupid questions. I have installed Qmail, VQAdmin and Courier Imap on my Solaris 10 server. I can send mail out using "mail" at the command line. I can telnet into both Qmail and Imap (telnet local host 143 etc.) and they allow me to log in. But so far I mhave not been able to set up a remote client to log in. I've tried pine, webmail at Yahoo and Outlook Express 6 and they all say basicallythe same thing - the server refused authorisation. The connection seems OK but login and/or password arenot being authenticated correctly. I've been through the IMAP installation instructions many times and can't see what I've done wrong. Any suggestions gratefully received.
courier-authlib's INSTALL tells you how to test password authentication.
