Courier supports:
(1) plain unsalted MD5 hash, base64 encoded
(2) extensible crypt hash, $1$..salt..$..hash..
Can you describe how PHP's MD5 is different? Or can you paste a sample of a
password and how PHP encodes it?
The only other variants I'm aware of are:
(3) plain unsalted MD5 hash, ascii hex encoded (it's trivial to convert (1)
into (3) and vice versa)
(4) openldap's "salted MD5" {SMD5}

Brian.
