That's fine. Cyrus is similar. The `/' in the email was simply to
document the folder hierarchy on disk. If it looks different but is
present to the user in a similar way, that's fine.

Is there an easy way to tell Courier IMAP that [path]/user/<user1> is
the INBOX for <user1> and [path]/user/<user2> is the INBOX for
<user2>? I don't think setting MAILDIRPATH=[path]/user will allow
this.

And, do the shared folders under [path] need to be symlinks in
INBOX.folders for users to view them?
