so I've installed courier-authdaemon and courier-imap (the latest versions) on a debian 4.0.
however, the authdaemon refuses to start: # /etc/init.d/courier-authdaemon start Starting Courier authentication services: authdaemond # ps aux | grep auth root 27097 0.0 0.2 2876 704 pts/0 R+ 20:58 0:00 grep auth # no error messages, nothing logged... it just does absolutely nothing. compilation was perfectly smooth. I was under the impression this might be due to wrong permissions, but I've checked permissions for all the files listed under 'what gets installed' at http://www.courier-mta.org/authlib/INSTALL.html with a system that's actually working - they seem to be the same. I've installed courier-imap many times before with success, but now it's driving me crazy. any help would be greatly appreciated!! cheers, - Dave. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by DB2 Express Download DB2 Express C - the FREE version of DB2 express and take control of your XML.
