Also, if you're compiling RPMS, you'll need to modify the courier.spec file and comment out the BuildRequire: fam-devel line. You can test whether it worked by running "ldd /path/to/your/imapd", run it before recompiling and it should show /usr/lib/libfam.so.0 as a compiled in library. Run it after the recompile and libfam.so should no longer show up.
