Hi everybody!

Hope my message will be accepted. I'm not on the list so please CC me
the answer if you could to : [EMAIL PROTECTED]

So my problem is, that we have a mail archive for about 7 years and now
everything is in the maildir folders of the users. It takes up now more
that 1.5 TB which is hard to deal with.
It would be good to split this mass of madness, into two servers, but
not based on users, but on time. So as I thought if there could be a
second file system with the same layout as the first,
connected to the main system with some remote fs system, then the old
mails could be moved to different locations. But the problem with that,
is that these files are referenced in a system,
and so I need somehow to merge these two storages to one when I connect
the imap server.
Hope you can give me any hints how I can do it. My thoughts were, that
if I alter the functions that work on the directory, so for reading, it
reads both sequentially.
Preferably there won't be any duplicates, because a cron script would
move the files from the main system to the archive storage.

Thank you for your help in foreward!
Gabor Stenzinger
