You say you're using courier-imap 4.1.2, and that's pretty ancient (more
than 3 years old).  Maybe the feature wasn't in that version - grep the tcpd
source for MAXCPERIP to be sure.

The feature was added in May 2006:

If you have it in your version, did you rebuild the dat file?
