The next time someone comes into the channel with this issue (if any do), I'll include you in a CC with details. You might be able to give him/her a few commands to possibly narrow down what is happening. The only obvious clue is that the current version of gamin and some prior as well as current versions of courier-imap seem to have this issue. Nobody as yet has tried downgrading gamin, only have replaced gamin with fam.
