This error message is sent when the client specifies an invalid mailbox or a folder name.
If the "INBOX/directory" part of the error message is what literally appears there, then it's an Evolution bug. It's a bug if a folder name contains a slash. Courier does not allow it. Furthermore, Courier specifies, via the IMAP protocol, that the client must use periods as folder hierarchy delimiters, not slashes.
