Hi all guys.. as all well know i am on a courier cruzade and found an interesting note about this.. of course this only apply on 1.0.14 and lower older releases, 1.0.16+ dont use FAM anymore..
i noted that on faq it limits to said "its not running" https://www.courier-mta.org/FAQ.html#fam but must also said: every time restarted the courier services, if I don't restart the FAM services the error occurs, so in addition to all of that you must also have to restart the FAM service. similar is happened with fs notification error on thunderbird, if you already has fam installed. cos unless gamin, fam is a service, gamin is per request of users. important note about FAM vs GAMIN: because GAMIN can't act on virtual accounts as it doesn't take correctly the lock on the maildir, because the imapmaildirlock() function in imap/imapscanclient.c tries to allocate a maildirwatch, which unconditionally calls the monitoring functions in the home of the owner.. then GAMIN is great only if you have system accounts.. but not if you have virtual accounts. it seems GAMIN does not suffers from this problem.
