I have a server running qmail, vpopmail, and courier-imap. I have set up some shared folders for one of the accounts so that certain specified people can access the folder. All was well.

I informed the people who would be accessing this folder that the messages in this shared folder would NOT count towards their quota limitation. However, at least one of them did not understand this, and decided to delete all the messages from their shared folder, removing them from the system. Even though her boss told her not to. Repeatedly.

Since all my users show on the system as being part of the same account, would changing the permissions for the symlink to be read-only make it so that only the owner of the account could delete messages? Or would that only affect the ability to change the link itself?

I am thinking the latter, but just wanted to make sure.
