Hi List, i hope this is self-explaining. courier-imap 1.3.12:
[...] (beam yourself into a typical IMAP session:) 003 FETCH 1 RFC822.HEADER <snip> From: MichaelB=?iso-8859-1?q?=FCning<michel> <snip> 003 OK FETCH completed. 004 SEARCH HEADER FROM MichaelB=?iso-8859-1?q?=FCning<michel> ALL * SEARCH 004 OK SEARCH done. 005 SEARCH HEADER FROM michel ALL * SEARCH 1 005 OK SEARCH done. So: Searching for the whole string MichaelB=?iso-8859-1?q?=FCning<michel> returns zero hits, but a search for a substring of this finds the message. It is probably related to the escaped german special "umlaut" character. I would like to know wether there is a way to search such messages reliably. Any ideas?
