Hi All,
We have setup a test system with Exim + Courier Imap and Netscape LDAP,
I have had the LDAP Administrator add the relevent attributes to the LDAP
entries. Since all the mail users are authenticated by the LDAP system and
before we turn the switch on I would like to know who should own the
maildirs and home directories since here are no local /etc/passwd accounts ?
We have a homeDirectory attribute for each user ....
E.G.:
/home/a/aly.dharshi/Maildir
/home/s/sam.varshavchik/Maildir
I should think that /home/a/aly.dharshi has to be owned by someone that
exim can deliver as I know exim can deliver as a certain user to the
Maildirs. What is the significance of uidNumber and gidNumber ? Does it
have to be the same as the ones on say a Linux uid/gid combo ? We have a
uluidnumber already we have created the 2 attributes above and copied that
number over for uidNumber and gidNumber is that fine ?
