First, it was pointed out that I could utilze ESMTP's "auth" mechanism for a better replacement of pop-before-smtp authentication. I wonder if someone has a working example of this, perhaps with a mysql backend database? (or db)
I read on the Courier page that no header rewriting capability was included in the esmtp package, mostly due to the resources it would take up. I wonder if someone hasn't considered adding another daemon process that could munge headers (similar to what PostFix does, and it doesn't use that many resources). It would be immensely useful, and could be made "optional". Thanks!
