Greetings. I'm running courier-imap (from djb's daemontools) along
with vpopmail and qmail. My users are primarily using netscape as a
mail agent. Let me first say that, by hand examination of the files in
the appropriate maildirs, as well as log inspection, mail is being
properly delivered. Furthermore, mail is being properly moved from the
new to the cur directories.

However, in the best of times, as a client, netscape appears to be a
bit funky. The entire inbox will disappear, and then reappear after a
couple of minutes of rest. Occasionally, one of the folders will get
into some state such that much of the header information is incomplete
(such as missing mail titles), and, when one attempts to read a
message, the message is entirely blank (including no headers... I'm
sure that this is just a failed read... more coming).

Now, however, the inbox is in a similar state. However, whilst before,
I've been able to erase the courierimapuiddb file and force
regeneration, this technique no longer works. In fact, after about
1/8th of the headers have been processed, I get the message:

The server has disconnected.
The server may have gone down or there may be a network problem.

Try connecting again.

When I try to run Outlook express I get the following message for each
folder that is in the above mentioned state.

Running Outlook express gives...

Your 'Inbox' folder was not polled for its unread count. Could not get
the unread counts for 'Inbox' on 'mail.b2pi.net' Account:
'mail.b2pi.net', Server: 'mail.b2pi.net', Protocol: IMAP, Server
Response: 'The server did not respond to this IMAP command before the
connection was terminated', Port: 143, Secure(SSL): No, Error
Number:0x800CCC0F

Along with a slew of messages that say that 'something' was unable to
allocate memory.

Unfortunately, the log shows only entries on the order of (having been
tai64nlocal'ed)....

Does anyone have any suggestions? Is there a way to enable more
detailed logging? Help
