More info - I tested with another MUA, which uses server side threading - the same problem. For example my previous message (to which I am replying now) is shown in a thread with a message from Jeff Tucker of December 6, although I didn't reply to it. I also added few fprintfs to imapd.c and thread.c, and they show that only dothreadreferences() is called, dothreadorderedsubj() is not called.
