Hmm. I'm not sure if this is related, but IMAP doesn't seem to be
working properly either. Until now I've only been using POP3 so I
wasn't aware of the IMAP problem. IMAP starts up fine, I can telnet
to port 143, but when I try to connect with a client (tried Mutt
and Outlook Express), apparently the server breaks the connection.
There isn't much being output to the logs; here's the result of an
attempt:

Dec 28 07:51:10 orion imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:10.0.0.13]
Dec 28 07:51:10 orion imapd: DISCONNECTED, ip=[::ffff:10.0.0.13], headers=0, body=0

This is using authdaemon and userdb. A test entry I created in userdb
looks like this:

audra1  uid=1001|gid=1001|home=/pkg/courier/0.36.0/var/dat/audra1|systempw=XXX

Courier is running as UID:GID=1001:1001, and I've created the Maildir
/pkg/courier/0.36.0/var/dat/audra1/Maildir with courier:courier as
the owner:group.

This is the same arrangement that I use for POP3, which has been working
fine.

Is there something obvious I'm overlooking? Are there any tests I could
run that might indicate where the problem lies?

m.
