Hello,
I'm new to this list so first of all a great hello to everybody, followed by
my first question.
I compilied and installed courier-imap from sources. (without any options to
configure or any other script).
Quoted from the README:

authpam - configure attempts to detect if the PAM library is installed, or
not. --without-authpam can be used to avoid installing authpam on systems
that do have a PAM library installed. Hopefully, you will have a good reason
to do something this silly.

PAM ist installed on my system (Redhat 7.2). Althoguh I don't find any file
like authpam in /usr/lib/courier-imap/libexec/authlib and the POP3d
complains about that if I set the authentification to authpam. With
authdaemon (when authdaemond is started) it workes correctly, but I don't
want to use the authdaemon.
My question: how can I authentificate with PAM without using the authdaemon?
Thank you very much.
