Hi Sam,

GREAT NEWS... my mailserver is now back up and running...

After lots of random fiddling, it appears that I managed to fix
something. However, the other part of the problem was my mistake...

In my mysql database, I had a 'realname' field... and for accounts with
nothing set, it was set to 'NULL'.... and it appears that authmysql
doesn't like too much ;)

All makes sense now that I think about it... the auth daemon was trying to
lookup entries in the database, it could find them, but it seen something
it didn't like (eg, NULL), so it reported a temporary error, and the error
message 'invalid address'... which it was... (kind of).

The only thing is that I dont recall seeing this NULL entry thing in any
of the docs? I notice that the example table structure explicitly sets
"default '' not null". Maybe worthwhile sticking it in the FAQ or
something?

Anyway... *huge* thanks for helping me getting this back up and
running. Also, hopefully its been fixed soon enough to avoid any loss of
mail :)

Bryan.
