For those who are interested the advantages of this over a normal backup MX scenario are as follows: 1) Serialmail never bounces. If your DNS gets completely shot and you're upstream nameserver is returning authoritative nxdomain for your main server while its unreachable (or something along those lines) and your backup host works, serialmail will not bounce the email - it'll just retry. 2) Its seperate from your other services.
