Greetings,

I'm new to courier so hopefully this helps explain some of my frusterations and
inabilities to get things working. I have followed the instructions in the
couriermlm manpage but cannot figure
out why mailinglists are not working. Hopefully someone can provide some input
for me. My frusteration level is high.

Here is what I have done:

couriermlm create $home/testlist [EMAIL PROTECTED]

The $home is actually /home/mail/username where username is a valid account and
exists in the userdb file.

My /usr/lib/courier/etc/dotextension file has one entry ".courier"

I created .courier-testlist which says:
| /usr/lib/courier/bin/couriermlm msg /home/mail/username/testlist

I created .courier-testlist-default which says:
| /usr/lib/courier/bin/couriermlm ctlmsg /home/mail/username/testlist

I created .courier-testlist-owner which says:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]

I then manually subscribed a few people:
couriermlm sub /home/mail/username/testlist [EMAIL PROTECTED]
some text here
^d

Sending mail to the account [EMAIL PROTECTED] produces a 550 User Unknown

I have tried various incantations of configurations without success (i.e.
POST=mod, SUBSCRIBE=mod). Courier is up and running fine. I think I'm missing
something with the syntax of .courier files and how they work.

In either case, can someone point me in the right direction and hopefully
provide an example that's better than the manpage?

Regards,
Jamie French
