Microsoft's claim that their next Lookout rev will use HTTP and WebDAV means much less than you think it does. People who've ran a sniffer determined that Lookout uses HTTP to download mail from your Hotmail account, yet the actual Lookout/Hotmail interface API remains proprietary. The sniffer does permit one to reverse-engineer most of the Hotmail API interface, but it's painfully obvious that Microsoft can easily change the APIs anytime they want. And let's remember that Microsoft supposedly uses Kerberos for authentication.
