What did you change?  The default setup allows localhost to relay.

Well, the default wasn't allowing localhost to relay.  It's now set at:

127.0              allow,RELAYCLIENT
204.95.210.9   allow,RELAYCLIENT <---IP address of the server

And I just tested it, it still doesn't allow localhost to relay.  In fact, nothing in the smtpaccess.dat file makes any difference.  I placed my IP address in there, and I still had to use authentication...even though I set it not to require authentication.

I'll tell ya the whole story.  I originally installed Courier, but I couldn't get majordomo to work with it.  So I installed Qmail, and continued to use Courier POP/IMAP.  Qmail's rcpthosts file wouldn't make any difference, it was an open relay.  So I shut down Qmail, and am trying to get Courier working again.  I have a good idea why majordomo won't work, it can't send outside local.

This is on a Red Hat 7.1 system.

Another problem I have, is using Eudora 5.1 on Win2k, checking my mail by IMAP, I get an error every time I get new mail...except right when I start Eudora.  Though I did enable workarounds for imap clients.  But localhost not relaying is the primary problem.
