I searched through the mailing list archive, but I can't find a solution to this problem.
I am using Courier 0.37.2, and this problem has been there since I was using 0.36. With Outlook Express 6, Mozilla 0.9.x and Outlook Express 5, I can't open more than 4 IMAP folders, (Netscape 4.78 does it fine). When I try to open the fifth folder, the client just gets no response from the server, resulting in a timeout. >From what I have read, I get the picture that the mail client doesn't close the imap connection, when it should, and courier has a limit of connections. Netscape must adhere to the closing-connection rule. Is this true? And how can I go about fixing it?
