Sorry for any trouble, but yes it does say that i need vpopmail.

"configuring in authlib
running /bin/sh ./configure ...............yadaydadayadaydada
...doin the configure thing...
configure: error: ~vpopmail/etc/lib_deps does not exist - upgrade vpopmail to the 
current version or fix the permissions on this file
configure: error: ./configure failed for authlib"

that was probably because i used the --authvpwchk option, which i get now, is 
speciffic to vpopmail. so now my question is limited to if there is a way of having 
virtual accounts (not on my system) that users can sign up for online (they sign up, 
their account is genorated, no intervension of the admin)
