I am trying calendaring in 'local' mode.
If you create a new event, but don't preview it first, then the contents
(description) of the event is lost.
How to repeat:
Click 'New Event'
Enter a time
Click 'Add event time(s)'
Enter 'testing' (or whatever) into Subject
Enter '1 2 3' (or whatever) into Contents
Click 'Add to calendar'
You are back in folders view.
Click on the event. The event page shows the correct subject, but the
body (contents) is blank.
However if you click 'Preview' before 'Add to calendar' then the body is
retained correctly.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a couple of suggestions regarding calendaring:
(1) changing the date of an existing event does not work unless you remember
to click the "Add to calendar" at the bottom of the screen; I think it would
be better if this were not necessary.
e.g. Modify Event; add a new event time; click 'Remove' next to the old
event time; click 'Folders' - currently the modifications are lost.
(2) display output for "all day" events could be better.
Right now I can enter "Friday" and "24 hours" as duration, and it is
displayed as "03/01/02-03/02/02" in the Event time(s), as
"03/01/02 00:00 - 03/02/02 00:00" in the Folders screen, and
"00:00 - 00:00" in the Weekly/Monthly views.
The same applies for multi-day events: e.g. "Monday" and "48 hours" gives
"03/04/02-03/06/02". It displays correctly across two days in the
weekly/monthly views, but with "00:00 - 00:00" as the times.
I think this could be improved with a few simple substitutions when
displaying the dates. In the weekly/monthly views,
"00:00 - 00:00" -> blank (or "all day")
"xx:xx - 00:00" -> "xx:xx -" (or "from xx:xx")
"00:00 - yy:yy" -> "- yy:yy" (or "until xx:xx")
and when displaying the dates:
(date X 00:00) - (date Y 00:00) displayed as "date X - date Y-1"
or as "date X" if X = Y+1
Regards,
Brian.
