Sure. I assume you are using Linux.
If you want to do it right you need a shared storage device, e.g. a
external RAID array that you connect to both servers. Then you need a HA
software, e.g. Heartbeat (http://linux-ha.org/), SGI Failsafe
(http://oss.sgi.com/projects/failsafe/) or Kimberlite
(http://www.missioncriticallinux.com/products/cluster.php).

A good starting point is the Linux-HA website http://linux-ha.org/.;
