Thanks for the reply Sam. After adding my private network hosts to my DNS server, everything works great. I also added a reverse lookup zone, just to be safe. As a side note, doing this also made other daemons like Samba work smoother (ie-less delay). This was especially noticable on our new Windows XP machines (go figure), while the Windows 2000 machines don't seem to be effected either way.
