Hi, I've been tearing my hair
out for the past few days trying to get courier to compile with MySQL
support. I know the install doc says that I need mysql development libs,
but I'm pretty sure I have them. I've installed version 3.23.49 of mysql
from source, the latest stable version. Now the libraries for this are
located in /usr/local/mysql/libs/mysql. I add that to ld.so.conf, to my
LDFLAGS environment variable, everywhere I can think of, to no avail.
Everytime I configure and compile, I run authlib/authinfo and mysql is never,
ever in there. I even downloaded and installed the MySQL++ thing thinking
maybe that was how to get the devel libs, but pointing courier's configure to
where those libraries were located had no effect as well. I sure hope
someone can help me out with this one as I am at my wit's end...a 300 Mhz
Cyrix-II is not the ideal machine to compile courier on over and over and over
and over again.
Thanks in advance,
Jim Hohne
