I have a ploblem with a mail loop caused by the following erroneous dns
entry:
host -v -t any eeeee.com.
rcode = 0 (Success), ancount=6
The following answer is not authoritative:
eeeee.com 172770 IN NS NS4.NAMERESOLVE.com
eeeee.com 172770 IN NS NS1.NAMERESOLVE.com
eeeee.com 172770 IN NS NS2.NAMERESOLVE.com
eeeee.com 172770 IN NS NS3.NAMERESOLVE.com
eeeee.com 2530 IN SOA NS1.NAMERESOLVE.com hostmaster.eeeee.com(
1016549179 ;serial (version)
16384 ;refresh period
2048 ;retry refresh this often
1048576 ;expiration period
2560 ;minimum TTL
)
eeeee.com 86370 IN MX 0 127.0.0.1
For authoritative answers, see:
eeeee.com 172770 IN NS NS4.NAMERESOLVE.com
eeeee.com 172770 IN NS NS1.NAMERESOLVE.com
eeeee.com 172770 IN NS NS2.NAMERESOLVE.com
eeeee.com 172770 IN NS NS3.NAMERESOLVE.com
Additional information:
NS4.NAMERESOLVE.com 142651 IN A 216.52.121.231
NS1.NAMERESOLVE.com 145131 IN A 64.85.73.101
NS2.NAMERESOLVE.com 56417 IN A 216.52.121.230
NS3.NAMERESOLVE.com 56417 IN A 64.85.73.103
As you'll notice, the MX record is the localhost interface...
Unfortunately, courier is trying to send a bounce message to this domain,
and hence hitting the 25 Received: header limit.
Unfortunately, I am getting 3 bounced bounce messages every 10 minutes.
How do I go about purging these unwanted bounces from the queue, assuming
the owner of eeeee.com doesn't intend to sort his DNS out?
