Hi group,

The email server was setup with qinstall which installs qmail + vpopmail + ezmlm + autoresponder + sqwebmail + ucspi-tcp + daemontools

I have installed courier-imap and I can login on the local side of the network using outlook, but if I set outlook to use the domain name as the server instead of the local ip it won’t connect. The router is setup fine and I can access the pop and smtp servers just fine using the domain name. Is there something I am missing? Something tells me there is something that is blocking the requests from outside of the local network. I am so close to having this all setup but I can’t figure out this one last step.

The main reason I am doing all of this is because I would like to use Horde 2.0 and IMP 3.0, I have Horde setup right now and can log in on the local side but not externally which falls back to my courier-imap issue. Which I don’t think it is courier but something else on the system blocking me that I don’t know about. I have already gone and recompiled apache and php to get the imap, xml, and gettext support for Horde to work, so now I am bound and determined to get this to work.

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction.

Thanks in advance,

George
