Has anyone yet developed or collected a library of various filters for
courier? Alternatively, is there anywhere a more comprehensive set of
well-commented examples of courier filters written in C, Python or whatever
which I might use to write a filter. The requirements w. regard to managing
file descriptors and pipes are very specific and I'm only a casual C
programmer. Sam's examples are good, but I need more information.

I'm building a new system to replace my current system running qmail and
considering switching to courier. I need to reproduce all the functionality
I currently have in qmail. In particular, I have a piece called
qmail-scanner-queue.pl by Jason Haar which does a crude but very effective
job of quarantining email with executable attachments and forbidden headers,
thus preventing most viruses and trojans from being passed on to me and my
customers. It's very effective, and my customers have come to depend on it,
and I've even hacked an exemption list into it for one customer who doesn't
want his mail filtered, which I understand can be done using maildrop rules
in courier.
