Axel,
Of course, courier works perfectly with ldap, IMO. :-) That is an important
reason why I use it. Virtual domains, virtual users and no systems accounts.
A little more information from you would be great like,
"What isn't working?"
some of the ldap stuff of the top of my head:
Have you configured authldaprc?
LDAP_SERVER, LDAP_PORT, LDAP_BASEDN, LDAP_BINDDN, LDAP_BINDPW, LDAP_MAIL
LDAP_HOMEDIR, LDAP_MAILDIR, LDAP_FULLNAME, LDAP_[CRYPT|CLEAR]PW,LDAP_UID,
LDAP_GID, and any others that you might need in authldaprc.
Is authdaemon.ldap running?
Is imapd running as a daemon or from inetd and have you verfied that it
is working? How?
What does your slapd.log say when you try to login?
What does your imapd.log say?
What LDAP server and version are you runing?
Have you installed the courier schema?
Have you read the courier doc's? VERY IMPORTANT.
Sorry but these are a few of the things you should/could have already done
and probably mentioned the results in the email. It is very difficult
to help without a little more information. Not all may be pertinent.
