Wow! You are trying to use multiple LDAPROOTs?
I wonder If it could be successful...
I think You should create ldap database with a "ou=mail service" root,
create "dc=domain, dc=tld, ou=mail service" objects with referrals to
the real "dc=domain, dc=tld" rooted databases, and enable server or client
side referrals...
Other ideas somebody?

Hi,
I am trying to build a virtual domain mail system based on Courier-IMAP
authenticated by LDAP.
I want to store the UID and GID central for a domain (e.g. dc=domain,
dc=tld) and the user-specific entries in user objects (e.g. cn=localpart,
ou=users, dc=domain, dc=tld).
Is it possible to separate UID and GID from the rest of the virtual
domain settings?
