Hi List, I have an RH7.1 box with qmail, vmailmgr, and the assorted djb utilities that hosts multiple virtual domains, some of which deliver to Maildirs and some of which fastforward using the /etc/aliases.cdb database. It works well. It also successfully supports qmail-pop3d email retrieval.
I'm trying to add imap capability and have successfully built courier-imap-1.4.4, installed it, and have it running. #ps axf ... /usr/libexec/authlib/authdaemond.plain start (several of these) #tail -1 /var/log/messages May 1 14:59:58 dp authdaemond.plain: authdaemon: modules="authcustom authcram authuserdb authpam", daemons=5' However, when I try to connect with an IMAP client (Mozilla 0.9.9) I get a "Login to server dp.theorb.net failed" and the server logs show: #tail -2 /var/log/maillog May 1 14:58:30 dp imapd: Connection, ip=[::ffff:10.0.0.110] May 1 14:58:32 dp imapd: LOGIN FAILED, ip=[::ffff:10.0.0.110] Those messages seem to be coming from /usr/sbin/imaplogin. The IP address is that of the client. The provided username/password are actual and exist in one of the databases in /home/$VIRTUAL_DOMAIN/passwd.cdb. I'm stumped and really don't know where to look next. I've checked the last 2 or 3 thousand list postings and haven't found an answer there. Any and all help, whether an answer or a pointer in the right direction, will be hugely appreciated.
