I have this for my /etc/pam.d/esmtp pop3d and imap:

auth       required     /lib/security/pam_smb_auth.so
account    required     /lib/security/pam_unix.so
session    required     /lib/security/pam_unix.so

POP and IMAP work great and I've verified that it's using my smb
user/pass.
