About three weeks ago I made a vpopmail (5.2.1) + courier imap (1.4.6 as
of 29/05/2002) standard installation and since then I've been posting and
reposting to the vpopmail's mailing list, waiting for someone to help me fix
strange authentication problems. No response.
As you both seem to be the only people here who know about this problem,
would you be so kind as to explain me which bugs and problems have you found
in vpopmail and/or how can one fix them? Or at least, could you tell me
where I can find this problems reported, explained and/or solved?

I have been working with vpopmail and courier for about 3 months trying to
resolve login issues.
I discovered (with Sam's help) that there is a default permissions issue
with the compile of vpopmail. when you compile with mysql selected the lib's
that are created have the wrong permissions and the compile of courier fails
with the lib missing. I have seen at least 30 or more questions directly
related to this problem.
In my opinion this should be included in the FAQ for courier. I know this is
a Vpopmail issue and not a courier issue, but time after time people post
with the same exact questions on this userlist.
Sam I would be will to edit the faq if you would like but I think that
someone should at least reduce the questions on this userlist by posting the
answers to the more common questions.
