First off, thanks to everyone who replied last week to my
queries about using fetchmail with Courier. Now that I have
my local domain in esmtpacceptmailfor, I can deliver mail to
the smtp server, which puts it in my virtual mail box.
Excellent.
However, I'm now struggling with mail filtering. I intend to
use maildrop for this. My understanding is that this should be
used internally by Courier when mail is delivered via smtp.
Is this correct?
The webadmin page has been set to use maildrop.
If so, where do I put the mail filter rules? Connecting via
the webmail application, I can add filter rules, and these
are placed in:
/var/courier/mail/sam/.mailfilter
The /var/courier/mail/sam directory is my Maildir for user
'sam' (everything else being installed in /opt/courier).
However, these filter rules aren't being used. Even if I
move mail to a folder if its size is > 1 byte, all incoming
mail still ends up in the inbox.
Obviously I'm missing something, but I'm not quite sure what.

Be seeing you,
Sam.
